Reliable heat from biomass – long-term and efficient
The firing systems for two hot water boilers with an output of 5 MW each were supplied for a biomass heating plant in Poland. As supplier, Richard Kablitz was responsible for the equipment of the firing systems. The project started in September 2023 and delivery was completed in June 2024.
In addition to the supply of equipment, the scope included the basic engineering for the firing system. This comprised the calculation and preparation of the general arrangement drawings for the primary air, secondary air and flue gas recirculation systems, the general arrangement drawing of the steel structure for the scope of supply, the specification of the refractory lining and the circuit diagrams for fuel feeding, grate and ash removal.
Richard Kablitz also contributed to the safety matrix of the plant. For each boiler, the scope of supply comprised a fuel feeder, a reciprocating grate, an ash remover with push rod and a hydraulic unit.
The plant has been in operation since October 2025. In August 2026, an inspection was carried out after around 6,500 operating hours. All supplied components were checked on site and found to be in very good condition. This confirms the reliability and high quality of the design for continuous operation with biomass.
