The biomass steam boiler plant (BMK) planned and supplied by Richard Kablitz GmbH is an essential part of the energy and media supply plant (EMVA). The EMVA supplies the likewise newly built plant for the production of renewable ethyl acetate with all required forms of energy and media.

The BMK is operated with untreated wood (fresh wood, etc.) or waste wood of categories A I / A II. A combination of both fuels is also permitted. The fuel is conveyed from the biomass store by suitable conveying equipment to the fuel feeders, where it is fed to the Kablitz reciprocating grate type 415 for combustion. The resulting ash and slag are discharged by a wet ash remover. A water-tube steam boiler with natural circulation and steam drum, including feedwater preheater, is installed as the steam generator. The heating surfaces are cleaned by steam-operated soot blower systems. Piping systems for primary and secondary air and recirculation gas complete the overall system.

Further essential subsystems are the dry flue gas cleaning, designed as a fabric filter (bag filter) with upstream additive injection, as well as the induced draught fan and the stack (outlet height 40 m above plant level) with upstream flue gas silencer. The emitted flue gases meet the requirements of the 44th BImSchV.

The BMK plant is equipped with complete automation including visualisation (DCS), which is integrated into the automation of the overall plant.

The biomass boiler plant of Richard Kablitz GmbH enables the future operator to produce ethyl acetate entirely from renewable energy sources and thus to make a decisive contribution to reducing emissions and therefore to environmental protection.

In later continuous operation, the biomass boiler plant will run up to 8,100 hours per year. The plant is designed so that operation without supervision (BoB) is possible for up to 72 h.
