Richard Kablitz GmbH planned and supplied a biomass steam boiler plant (BMK) for the company. The plant supplies steam for the company.

The BMK is operated with untreated wood (fresh wood etc.) or waste wood of categories A I / A II. The fuel is delivered by truck and unloaded in the biomass store. A wheel loader then feeds the walking floor building.

The biomass is transported via walking floor and drag chain conveyor to the fuel feeder, which feeds the material to the Kablitz reciprocating grate type 415 for combustion.

The resulting ash and slag are discharged via a wet ash remover. The steam is generated in a fire-tube drum with natural circulation. A feedwater preheater (economiser) is also installed. The heating surfaces are cleaned by compressed-air soot blower systems. Combustion air systems consisting of primary and secondary air as well as recirculation gas systems complete the overall system.

An SNCR system is installed to reduce the nitrogen oxides produced during combustion. A mixture of reducing agent (urea) and dilution water is injected into the boiler. The nitrogen oxides produced during combustion are converted into water vapour and nitrogen according to the principle of selective non-catalytic reduction.

The flue gas coming from the furnace is drawn by the induced draught fan through a flue gas cleaning plant and then conveyed on to the stack. The particles contained in the flue gas (fly ash) are separated in the pre-separator. The remaining entrained fly ash is separated on the filter bags. Additive is dosed upstream of the filter to reduce pollutants in the flue gas.

The emitted flue gases meet the requirements of the 44th BImSchV.

The BMK plant has complete automation including a process control system (DCS), which is seamlessly integrated into the higher-level overall plant.
