A biomass CHP plant supplies a neighbouring paper mill with electricity and heat – from landscape maintenance wood, tomato vines and screen overflow.
Thermal input
Steam output
Electrical output
Challenge
The intended fuels are difficult: landscape maintenance wood, compost screening residues, tomato vines and similar special biomass with a moisture content of up to 60%.

Solution
Kablitz supplied the plant from the walking floors for the various fuels to the stack: a fully adiabatic grate firing, the steam boiler for 42 t/h at 81 bar and 470 °C with auxiliary lines, and flue gas cleaning by dry sorption with hydrated lime.

Result
Since 2020/2021, the plant has generated up to 10 MW of electricity and up to 20.4 MW of heat for the paper mill.
