Planning a biomass plant: the data you need for a first conversation

A few details are enough for the first technical discussion. Complete design data is not required; whatever is missing is clarified in the conversation.

Describe the fuel

State the intended fuel and the quantity available. If you know the moisture content, add it. An existing fuel analysis helps in choosing the combustion system.

A fuel being listed on the fuels page does not replace checking it against your plant concept.

Define the form of energy and output

Should the plant deliver process steam, hot water, thermal oil or hot gas? For steam, mass flow, pressure and temperature matter. For hot water, thermal oil or hot gas, it is the required temperatures and the output.

Upper limits in the product data, for example for pressure and temperature, do not describe a jointly guaranteed operating point. What your process needs is what counts.

New plant, extension or modernisation

Describe what is already there: existing equipment, interfaces and the aim of the project. The scope of supply follows from that.

Whether permits are needed, and which, depends on the project and has to be checked for your case.

What if details are missing?

The technical fields of the project inquiry are optional. Enter what you know and leave the rest open. Kablitz then clarifies the open points with you.

Start with the data you have

The project inquiry takes you through location, design, fuel and scope of supply in five steps.
