Since 1920 we have been the specialists for air-cooled multifuel grate firing systems. The plant concept is extremely flexible and modular.

The moving rows of grate bars are fed hydraulically via several independent drives, whereby speed and stroke length can be variably adjusted for each drive. This allows us to adapt the firing system to almost all solid fuels.
The combustion air, which also serves to cool the grate, is fed to the furnace via individually adjustable under grate air zones. It enters the fuel bed through air slits in the grate bars.

Three variants of air-cooled grates are available:

This grate type is universally suitable for almost all solid fuels and the basis for our multifuel combustion systems. Even fuels with up to 65% water content are well handled.

Due to the closed reciprocating movement of the entire row of grate bars, it is insensitive to impurities such as metal parts, which reach the grate via the fuel supply.

The air-cooled moving grate is constructed like a staircase of fixed and moving rows of grate bars. Every 2nd row of grate bars is moved to transport the fuel. The burnt-out fuel is discharged via the slag hopper at the lower grate end.

This grate system is designed to be very flexible: The moving speed can be set independently for each driving cylinder. The bottom air can be regulated individually section by section and together with the good stoking effect an optimal burnout is achieved even with difficult fuels.

We have enhanced this grate type: it is now also available as grate type 715 with water-cooled grate bars. The big advantage: grate types 415 and 715 are compatible with each other, which means that you can also retrofit your grate type 415 with water cooling.

This type of grate is suitable for small outputs in the range from approx. 3 to 10 MW. In contrast to the other grate types, this one has a horizontal surface.
Despite its small size, this grate type also consists of individually adjustable grate drives and underwind zones.

This type of grate is particularly suitable for very clean fuels without foreign particles like metal parts, but also with a water content of up to 65 %.

The overthrust grate is built up longitudinally like stairs in sections.

In each section row, one fixed and one horizontally movable grate bar are arranged next to each other in pairs.

This grate system is designed to be very flexible: The moving speed can be set independently for each driving cylinder. The bottom air can be regulated individually section by section and together with the good stoking effect an optimal burnout is achieved even with difficult fuels.

This grate system is also available in a pure air-cooled and a water-cooled version.
